Visiting Ljubljana for the first time? Not a problem! Our Ljubljana tips & tricks will help you make the most of your stay.
Museums & galleries free on the first Sunday of the month
Visit some of Ljubljana’s museums and galleries. Some of them offer free admission on the first Sunday of the month. Or take advantage of the following museum open-doors days:
- International Museum Day (18 May),
- Museum Summer Night (the second or third Saturday in June),
- This Merry Day of Culture (3 December, the birthday of the greatest Slovenian poet France Prešeren).
Bring comfortable shoes
Treat yourself to a picnic in a beautiful park, visit a gallery, enjoy the views of the city from its picturesque bridges and embankments, and attend some of the countless free events held in the city’s streets. Ljubljana is beautiful at any time of the year and being small and easy to get around, it is best explored on foot – so bring comfortable shoes with you.
Where to grab a coffee in Ljubljana?
That’s a pretty usual question for locals and foreign visitors of Ljubljana. Before we attempt to answer the question we have to ask ourselves what it is that we expect from this coffee. Check out the website Visit Ljubljana, and we are sure you will find the best coffee for you.
Bring your water bottle
Ljubljana’s tap water is one of the best you may ever drink and is accessible to everyone for free. Ljubljana is one of the few European capitals with very high-quality drinking water. For that reason, there is no need to buy bottled water in stores in Ljubljana and Slovenia – just bring your favourite water bottle!
